Abstract

A fracture breaks the continuity of bone tissue caused by trauma. Fractures can cause fatty tissue edema, joint to muscle and joint disorders, joint dislocation, tendon rupture and blood vessel damage. Actions taken to relieve pain in fracture patients with non-surgical approaches such as splinting. The traction splinting procedure is a first aid procedure for patients with injuries or trauma to the musculoskeletal system to immobilize the injured part of our body using a tool. This splinting traction  aims to reduce and eliminate pain, preventing movement of the fracture which can result in damage to the surrounding soft tissue.  Management is carried out in accordance with factors such as age, type of fracture, complications that occur and the socio-economic situation of the individual client. The procedure splinting traction is prescribed for all patients who experience fractures that occur in long bones, both closed and open fractures. This aims to prevent more severe damage to bone fragments or tissue.
