Pengaruh Teknik Relaksasi Genggam Jari Terhadap Skala Nyeri Pada Pasien Post Operasi Section Caesarea Di Rumah Sakit Umum Sundari Medan

Pain can be reduced by pharmacological and/or non-pharmacological pain management. One non-pharmacological technique is hand-held finger relaxation. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of hand-held relaxation techniques in reducing post SC pain in Sundari General Hospital Medan.
The design of this research is quasi experiment with pretest-posttest design. Sampling in this study uses purposive sampling. The sample in this study 68 respondents were divided into 2 groups, 34 respondents received hand-held relaxation and 34 respondents as a control group. Data collection uses a Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) and Verbal Descriptor Scale (VDS). Statistical analysis using Wilcoxon test with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that before giving hand-held relaxation, moderate pain was experienced by 30 people (%). After giving hand-held relaxation the majority experienced mild pain as many as 26 respondents (76.5%). Obtained p value = 0.00 ≤ α = 0.05. So, it can be concluded that there is an influence of hand-held relaxation on pain reduction in post-sectio caesarea patients at Sundari General Hospital Medan.
