Knowledge, Wound Care, Moist Wound Healing MethodAbstract
Wounds are disorders of skin integrity caused by many things, including friction, pressure, temperature, infection and others (Arisanty, 2012). The incidence of injuries is increasing every year, both acute and chronic wounds. Wound care with the "wet to dry" method is still widely used in hospitals. This method uses wet gauze to cover the wound and then let it dry on the wound, and once dry the scar or dead tissue can be peeled off. This research is a quantitative descriptive study with a cross sectional approach using the chi-square test. The sample taken in this study were 30 respondents with a total sampling technique of sampling. The results of the analysis showed that the respondents who had less knowledge with less wound care were 19 people (63.3%), sufficient knowledge with sufficient wound care were 4 people (13.3%). The results of the chi-square statistical test obtained a p-value of 0.028. This means that there is a significant relationship between Nurse Knowledge and Wound Care Using the Moist Wound Healing Method at Medica Medan Inpatient Pratama Clinic. It is hoped that nurses will increase their knowledge in wound care using the moist wound healing method, so that the patient's needs can be met properly.
