Hubungan Tingkat Pengetahuan Ibu Post Partum Dengan Perawatan Tali Pusat Di Kelurahan Sei Sikambing B Diwilayah Kerja Puskesmas Desa Lalang

Abstract

Based on WHO data in 2015, neonatal deaths due to tetanus neonatorum for countries in Southeast Asia were 581 babies. Neonatal tetanus cases in Indonesia in 2014 were 84 babies from 15 provinces with a mortality rate of 54 babies. This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge of post partum mothers and umbilical cord care in Sei Sikambing B Village in the Lalang Village Community Health Center Working Area. The research method uses descriptive correlation with a cross-sectional approach. The sample in this study was postpartum mothers with a total of 58 respondents and the sample was taken using purposive sampling. The research results showed that some of the knowledge of postpartum mothers was in the poor category, as many as 25 people (43.1%), and the majority of postpartum mother respondents at the Lalang Village Community Health Center did not carry out umbilical cord care, namely 32 people (55.2%). The results of the Spearman Rho correlation test obtained a value of ρ= 0.000 with a coefficient value of 0.803, so p value < α (0.000 < 0.05). From the research results, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between the level of knowledge of post partum mothers and umbilical cord care in Sei Sikambing B Village in the Lalang Village Community Health Center Working Area. For further research, it is recommended to analyze the factors that influence post partum mothers' knowledge of umbilical cord care.
