Abstract

Breast milk (breast milk) is the only first and best food that should be given to newborn babies because it contains all the nutrients needed for the growth of babies 0-6 months. The Word Heald Organization (WHO) recommends giving breast milk to babies within the first hour after birth and continuing after the first 6 months of the baby's life. Mothers with malnutrition problems are still able to produce breast milk, but if this malnutrition persists for a long time it can affect some of the nutrients contained in breast milk. The quantity of immune components in breast milk will decrease as the mother's nutritional status worsens. A breastfeeding mother's energy intake of less than 1500 calories per day can cause a decrease in total fat.Exclusive breastfeeding in the world is still very low. Based on data from the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), in 2012 only 39% of babies under 6 months of age were exclusively breastfed throughout the world, this figure also did not increase in 2015, namely 40% of success in exclusive breastfeeding throughout the world. world. Therefore, counseling is carried out so that mothers know how to eat well during pregnancy.
