Abstract

The incidence of pressure ulcers varies greatly rises, incidence rates of 0.4% to 38.0% for hospitals, 2.2% to 23.9% for long-term care, and 0% to 17% for home care have been reported. Pressure ulcers can develop within 2 to 6 hours. Therefore, the key to preventing pressure ulcers is to accurately identify at-risk individuals so that preventive measures may occur and effectively reduce the incidence of pressure ulcers and of course the cost. These research used a qualitative method with phenomenology analyze, the aim is to explore the family experience while taking care of a pressure ulcers at home. Method of the data used in depth interview. The technique of sample was purposife samplings with total of participant were 5 people. There were 3 theme on this research: 1) pressure ulcers happen in a long term, 2) chronic ill caused client have to lay on the bed in a long time, 3) choosing a treatment when family found out about the health issue, 4preventive act and caring for the pressure ulcers, 2)for the next researcher can study more about how far the knowledge of the family about the importance to take care of the wounds,
