Abstract

Hypertension is a condition in which the blood pressure in the arteries is too high. Hypertension is more common at the age of 35-44 years (6.3%), 45-54 years (`11.9%), and 55-64 years (17.2%). Slow Deep Breathing is conscious relaxation to regulate deep and slow breathing which is done six times per minute for 15 minutes. The purpose of the study was to apply the comprehensive nursing process with decreasing blood pressure by using slow deep breathing exercise in patients with hypertension at TK II Putri Hijau Hospital Medan 2021. Methods: The study used descriptive case design on two people with the same disease by including the stages assessment, diagnosis, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Results: Nursing actions were carried out on patients 1 and 2, slow deep breathing was effective in lowering blood pressure. Conclusion: This study can effectively help to reduce blood pressure by using slow deep breathing exercise.
