Abstract

Musculoskeletal disorders is the occupational disease Working period and body position while working is one factor in the occurrence of musculoskeletal disorders. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between work period and position of the body when working with musculoskeletal disorders in nurses working in the RSU Sundari Medan. This study includes Non Experimental design with cross sectional approach. The samples used in this study amounted to 34 people to be nonprobability sample selection technique with purposive sampling. Measuring instruments used in this study was a questionnaire sheet Nordic Body Map to measure musculoskeletal disorders and working lives of nurses, as well as the observation sheet REBA to measure body position while working that is not ergonomic. Data analysis using Saphiro Wilk normality test and then data processed by using Spearman Rank Correlation. Results obtained there are correlation between work period and musculoskeletal disorders (p = 0,031) body position while working and musculoskeletal disorders while wound care ( p = 0,002), wound suturing (p = 0,002), intravenous catether (p = 0,015)). All of body position while working in four nursing intervention used standing and bending.
