Acute respiratory infection (ARI) is an acute infection process that lasts for 14 days, which is caused by microorganisms and attacks one or more parts of the respiratory tract. Starting from the nose to the alveoli including adnexal tissues such as sinuses, ear cavities and pleura. Effective coughing is a method of coughing properly, where the client can save energy so that he does not get tired easily expelling phlegm to the maximum. Knowledge is the result of knowing and this occurs after people have sensed a certain object. Sensing occurs through the human senses, namely the senses of sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch. Most of human knowledge is obtained through the eyes and ears. The research is descriptive analytic with a cross-sectional design where the research is carried out with one observation at a certain time which aims to determine Family Knowledge with Effective Coughing Actions in ARI Patients in the working area of the Darussalam Health Center. The sampling method used a total sampling technique, which is a sampling technique where the number of samples is the same as the population. The sample of this study was taken as many as 50 people. The questionnaire consists of 15 statements with the answer choices: True and False. The observation sheet consists of five elements that will be carried out with a checklist of to do and not to do. Based on the results of the Chi Square statistical test, the Fisher' Exact Test value = 0.018 (p <0.05). From these results, it was concluded that there was a relationship between family knowledge and effective coughing actions in ARI patients in the working area of the Darussalam Health Center. Nurses are expected to be able to provide counseling about Effective Coughing Actions in ARI Patients.
